He calls himself REVERAND and encourages extramarital affairs.... what Bible does he read?

Al Sharpton Blasts Tiger Woods for Lack of Mistress Diversity

The Rev. Al Sharpton held a press conference today to blast Tiger Woods for the lack of diversity among his mistresses. Sharpton claims that the lack of African-American women among Woods’ harem will have a negative affect on the black community, specifically young black girls.

“Why is it that a man who calls himself black can’t bring himself to cheat on his wife with a black woman?” said Sharpton, speaking to a group of supporters in Harlem . “What does it say to young black girls everywhere when you pass them over? Shame on you, Tiger Woods. What would your daddy say?”

Sharpton, who has long championed taking black women as mistresses, said that today’s black athletes need to stop neglecting black women when it comes to extramarital affairs, and should follow the examples of positive black role models such as Jesse Jackson and Martin Luther King, Jr., both of whom cheated on their wives with black women. Sharpton also stressed that cheating with African-American women would help the black community financially by giving black girls the chance to sell their stories to tabloids and gossip magazines.

Added Sharpton, “I’m not asking you to not cheat on your wives, I’m just asking you to give back to your own community.”

Thankful because of the stability you provide

A full cornucopia

Happy Thanksgiving

We Are So Blessed!

What does it mean to be thankful?  Usually moving and grooving with a world that seems busy keeps us from pausing to let others know how appreciated they really are.  The last two years have truly been crazy in our country... the economy, elections, housing markets, banks, etc.  Stability is not a word you would use to describe this time at all, but there has been stability.  That makes me thankful....stability brings a feeling that we have something foundational from which we can build.  A place of strength which serves as an anchor to allow us to maintain homeostasis while we move through "seasons".  Those "seasons" are the

chronos (chronological) moments of time that we all walk through.  In the midst of those chronosmoments however, there are those kairos (opportune windows of time) moments that we must seize.  Stability allows us to grab and seize those moments.

Stability can be seen in many things

  • a stable GOD who never changes and loves us unconditionally (He even died for us), is bigger than any problem, provides for eternal salvation, provides the power to do the things He calls us to do, knows ALL things, provides His Word for us to know Him, includes us in His big plan for mankind, and is the King of Kings and in HisKingdom I live!
  • a Family that is a blessing that loves me and I can love... a Family that pursues God together... a Family whose next generation looks brighter than the previous
  • relationships that God has gifted us with that we can walk this life with together, and those with whom we can share an eternal relationship that will never end because of our common belief in His redemption... old relationships that continue to grow deeper and new relationships that spawn new horizons and new territories
  • health that allows us to vitally pursue and live an abundant life... health that allows us to offer health to others whose health is weak....
  • a business that is not about houses, mortgages, banks, the stock market, government decisions (or lack there of), but instead about relationships with a network of awesome people who become friends and connect and pursue common goals and purposes.... a business whose value is so much more in the people than the systems, product, service, or assets that crumble in economic Winters... a business that is so stable because of the people who are stable and resilient beyond comprehension.... a business with a leader who is a visionary..... a business where health is received and given away..... a business that is a platform that supplies the income to pursue the purpose God has revealed to each of us...and more.
  • a warm house when its cold, cool when its hot, a car that gets us from place to place, shoes, clothes, technology, water, food, and so much more we just take for granted
  • a puppy dog that has unconditional loyalty and trust (what a cool example of unconditional love)
  • and Oh so much more that will not be remembered for the moment
It is from this stability that we can pursue those God revealed Kairos moments of time.  Those open doors and windows like Esther's moment ... "for such a time is this" when she stepped up to the plate and swung the bat.  It is encouraging to see all of the opportunities that arise in times of stress and crisis.  Some wait for the crisis to pass while others see the kairos moments that exist because of the crisis.  Many new "empires" had their foundations built and were born from times like these.  Lets be thankful for where we are and even more thankful for what we can be a part of in the future.

You are getting this email because my family and I are thankful for you... and for you being a reason that stability is present in our lives, and we can be a part of that stability for you.  We are grateful that we can move forward with you and build on the platform God has given us together.

Thank You for being so much more than friends, but relationships that stand the storms and tests of time that allow the future to be brighter than today!

We love and appreciate you,

The Beavers

Gratitude

"Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos into order, and confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow."

Borrowed Research vs. Primary Research

Borrowed Science: Pieced Together Research

The health industry has literally thousands of nutritional formulations with written material explaining their use. But the question always remains, "Why don't some, if not most of their products, work like the written material claims?" How many of us have been disappointed from the results after using specific nutrients over a long period of time?

There are two terms that I'd like you to remember which will help explain the above questions. These terms are: Borrowed Science and Primary Research.

Borrowed Science is pieced together research, information from other nutritional substances or formulas that companies use to promote their own products. For example, vitamin E has its individual research dictating its usage. Vitamins B1 and B6 have their individual research. Putting these three substances together into one formula brings up the question; How is this formula going to effect the body?

The research on an individual substance is given to the public stating that in combination vitamins E, B1, B6 will produce a desired effect, when in fact, unless specific Primary Researchis done on the combination of nutrients the question remains: What is the effect? This is Borrowed Science. There is no scientific validation on the formula itself.

 Primary Research: The Real Thing

The second term is Primary Research. It is specific research on the very product that is being marketed, scientific validation and independent studies that show that both the company and the products are safe, trustworthy, and effective. The distinction between these two terms is critical, often demonstrating why a nutritional product works or not.

The distributors of Juice Plus+® understand how nature provides synergistic elements in all whole foods that depend on each other to produce functional foods, foods that produce specific effects in the body's metabolism. How can nutritional products be expected to work when a hodgepodge of nutrients and herbs are literally thrown together into one capsule? Claims on each specific nutrient may be valid, but together do they produce a known, healthy biological effect, or are too many assumptions being made (borrowed science)? Who knows? A product's effectiveness and safety are determined only if there is scientific validation on the whole product.

NSA, the maker for Juice Plus+® has raised the standards with its Primary Research. Clinical studies published in peer-reviewed scientific journals have demonstrated that:

  • Juice Plus+® delivers key phytonutrients that are absorbed by the body. Investigators at the Tokyo Women's Medical University and the Medical University of Vienna studied the bioavailability (absorption by the body) of select nutrients found in Juice Plus+ and concluded that Juice Plus+ effectively increases antioxidant nutrients and folate. Other published studies have also shown various phytonutrients in Juice Plus+ are bioavailable. These studies were conducted by independent researchers at the Georgetown/UCLA, University of Sydney in Australia, King's College in London, Brigham Young University, the University of Arizona, the University of Florida and the University of Texas Health Science Center.
  • Juice Plus+® reduces oxidative stress. Several of these bioavailability studies also reported improved antioxidant capacity and reduced lipid peroxides, a key indicator of oxidative stress. In addition, researchers at the Medical University of Graz, Austria and the University of North Carolina, Greensboro found that Juice Plus+ Orchard, Garden and Vineyard Blends together were effective in reducing a marker for oxidative stress associated with aerobic exercise.
  • Juice Plus+® helps support a healthy immune system. A healthy immune system protects the body, and good nutrition is important for a healthy immune system. Published clinical research indicated that Juice Plus+ supports several measures of immune function - in law school students at the University of Florida and in elderly people in a study conducted at the University of Arizona.
  • Juice Plus+® helps protect DNA. A diet rich in nutrition from fruits and vegetables is also important to protect DNA from oxidative damage, which can weaken the structural integrity of DNA. DNA becomes damaged and fragile when exposed to oxidative stress; antioxidants from fruits and vegetables can help protect DNA from this damage. Studies conducted have shown a reduction in DNA damage after taking Juice Plus+ in young adults at the University of Florida and in an elderly population at Brigham Young University.
  • Juice Plus+® positively impacts several key indicators of cardiovascular wellness.Homocysteine is an amino acid that is found in the blood. Maintaining healthy homocysteine levels is important for the heart and cardiovascular system. A clinical study at the University of Sydney in Australia reported a reduction in homocysteine levels - even though the levels of the Australian subjects were already within an acceptable range. Researchers in Foggia, Italy also found a reduction of homocysteine levels in subjects with elevated levels of homocysteine.

An important point is that all of these studies were done with humans--not rats, fruit flies, monkeys or apes! These studies have proven that Juice Plus+® is not only absorbed through the digestive tract, but affects the interior cells of the body. The cutting edge research shows that nutrient contents of the blood are affected plus the immune system is improved at all ages. Please ask for copies of these studies from your local Juice Plus+® distributor.

Now we know why NSA has lasted through the tests and challenges of time. Their trustworthy, scientific, and honest qualities and approach are hard to find. Next time you buy a nutritional product, make sure you ask for scientific validation.

Juice Plus+®..the real thing!

Stay well,

Dr. Smokey Santillo

New Report Summarizes Fruit & Vegetable Consumption Data by State

Report also Highlights Environmental Supports and Policies to Improve Diet

Wilmington, Del. - Today, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released the State Indicator Report on Fruits and Vegetables, 2009. This document summarizes data for fruit and vegetable consumption from multiple sources and, for the first time, breaks the results down by state. It also discusses policies and environmental supports that can make it easier for everyone to eat more fruits and vegetables.

The State Indicator Report shows that all states in the country fall short of national objectives for consumption of fruits and vegetables, which aim for 75 percent of Americans to eat at least 2 servings of fruit, and for 50 percent of Americans to eat at least 3 servings of vegetables daily.

Nationally, CDC supported state surveys indicate that only 33 percent of adults are meeting the recommendation for fruit consumption and 27 percent are meeting the vegetable recommendation. On average, only 14 percent of American adults consume at least 2 servings of fruit and at least 3 servings of vegetables each day. The statistics are even worse for high school students – 32 percent of them report eating at least 2 fruit servings daily and 13 percent say they eat at least 3 vegetable servings each day. On average, only 9.5 percent of American adolescents consume at least 2 servings of fruit and at least 3 servings of vegetables each day.

“A diet high in fruits and vegetables is important for optimal growth in children, weight management, and the prevention of chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, and some cancers,” said Elizabeth Pivonka, Ph.D., R.D., president and CEO of Produce for Better Health Foundation, the nonprofit entity behind the Fruits & Veggies—More Matters national public health initiative. “The State Indicator Report on Fruits and Vegetables clearly shows that, while some areas are doing a better job of encouraging and increasing fruit and vegetable consumption, policies need to be implemented or improved to promote healthy eating to both children and adults. The Fruits and Veggies—More Matters website, fruitsandveggiesmorematters.org, can act as a resource to assist in these efforts.”

While all states are well below recommendations, those states doing a better job of eating their 2 or more fruit servings and 3 or more vegetable servings are:

Adults

  1. District of Columbia – 20.1 percent
  2. Vermont – 17.9 percent
  3. Maine – 17.7 percent
  4. Hawaii – 17.5 percent
  5. New York – 16.5 percent
  6. Massachusetts – 16.4 percent
  7. Connecticut and New Hampshire – 16.2 percent (tie)
  8. Arizona and California – 16.1 (tie)

Adolescents
  1. Vermont – 11.4 percent
  2. Florida – 10.9 percent
  3. Connecticut – 10.4 percent
  4. Kansas and New Hampshire – 10.1 percent (tie)
  5. Illinois and Maine – 10.0 percent (tie)
  6. Hawaii – 9.2 percent
  7. Indiana and District of Columbia – 8.8 percent (tie)

Among the states most in need of improving fruit and vegetable consumption are:

Adults

  1. Mississippi – 8.8 percent
  2. Oklahoma and South Carolina – 9.3 percent (tie)
  3. Alabama – 9.8 percent
  4. South Dakota – 10.0 percent
  5. West Virginia – 10.3 percent
  6. Kansas – 10.6 percent
  7. Kentucky and North Carolina – 10.8 percent (tie)
  8. Arkansas and Missouri – 11.2 percent (tie)

Adolescents
  1. Arkansas – 5.2 percent
  2. North Carolina – 6.0 percent
  3. Kentucky – 6.1 percent
  4. South Carolina – 6.3 percent
  5. Wisconsin – 6.7 percent
  6. Alaska and Oklahoma – 7.0 percent (tie)
  7. Maryland and Ohio – 7.2 percent (tie)
  8. Arizona, Michigan and Utah – 7.4 percent (tie)

Adolescent Data Unavailable for: California, Colorado, Delaware, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington.

“Eating a diet that includes a colorful variety of fruits and vegetables provides a wide range of valuable nutrients important to health. Based on this state by state data, every single state has a great deal of room for improvement,” said Pivonka. “When you remember that all product forms count; fresh, frozen, canned, dried and 100 percent fruit and vegetable juice, it really is easy to add more fruits and vegetables throughout the day.”

Majority of Americans Not Meeting Recommendations for Fruit and Vegetable Consumption

CDC Issues First State by State Report No U.S. state is meeting national objectives for consumption of fruits and vegetables, according to the first report to provide state-by-state data about fruit and vegetable consumption and policies that may help Americans eat more fruits and vegetables. "State Indicator Report on Fruits and Vegetables, 2009" was released today by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The Healthy People 2010 objectives aim for at least 75 percent of Americans to eat the recommended two or more daily servings of fruit, and for at least 50 percent of Americans to eat the recommended three or more servings of vegetables daily. However, CDC surveys indicate that only 33 percent of adults meet the recommendation for fruit consumption and 27 percent get the recommended servings of vegetables. The statistics are even worse for high school students - 32 percent report eating at least two servings of fruit daily and 13 percent say they eat at least three servings of vegetables each day. "A diet high in fruits and vegetables is important for optimal child growth, maintaining a healthy weight, and prevention of chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease and some cancers, all of which currently contribute to health care costs in the United States," said Dr. William H. Dietz, director of CDC's Division of Nutrition, Physical Activity, and Obesity. "This report will help states determine what is taking place in their communities and schools and come up with ways to encourage people to eat more fruits and vegetables." The report highlights consumption and three key policy and environmental areas: Healthier Food Retail: Retailers, such as supermarkets and grocery stores that stock a variety of high-quality fruits and vegetables are a critical asset for the health of residents. -- Only eight states have a policy for healthier food retail improvements, which can help increase the number of full-service grocery stores in areas where they are unavailable, increase the availability of healthier foods in small food stores, and promote healthier foods through information at the point of purchase. Availability of Healthier Foods in Schools: Schools are in a unique position to influence and promote fruit and vegetable intake among youth, school staff, parents, and other community members. -- Only 1 in 5 (21 percent) middle and high schools offer fruits and non-fried vegetables in vending machines, school stores or snack bars. -- 21 states have a policy to support farm-to-school programs that can increase access to fruits and vegetables as well as teach school children about nutrition and agriculture. Food System Support: A systems approach to food considers many factors involved in getting fruits and vegetables from farms to consumers, including the roles of growers, processors and retailers. Food policy councils are organizations made up of many agencies and community organizations that look at access of fresh produce at the community and state levels. These councils make recommendations about policies and programs such as farm-to-school programs, community gardens, farmers markets and availability of fresh produce in supermarkets. -- 20 states have a state-level food policy council, and 59 local food policy councils exist across the nation. "We have seen the tremendous benefit of state and local officials, health professionals, employers, food store owners, farmers, school staff, and community members working together on food and nutrition issues," said Heidi Michels Blanck, Ph.D., CDC epidemiologist. "Their efforts can help to increase the availability of affordable healthier food choices such as fruits and vegetables." The State Indicator Report on Fruits and Vegetable, 2009 is available at http://www.fruitsandveggiesmatter.gov/indicatorreport/. CDC is a partner in the national fruit and vegetable program and provides resources for September National Fruits & Veggies - More Matters month at http://www.fruitsandveggiesmatter.gov. Not in the Supreme Court???

I FIND IT INTERESTING THAT A HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPAL CAN SEE THE PROBLEM, BUT OUR SOCIETY CANNOT

This is a statement that was read over the PA system at the football game at Roane County High School , Kingston , Tennessee , by school Principal, Jody McLeod

"It has always been the custom at Roane County High School football games, to say a prayer and play the National Anthem, to honor God and Country."

Due to a recent ruling by the Supreme Court, I am told that saying a Prayer is a violation of Federal Case Law. As I understand the law at this time, I can use this public facility to approve of sexual perversion and call it "an alternate life style," and if someone is offended, that's OK.

I can use it to condone sexual promiscuity, by dispensing condoms and calling it, "safe sex.." If someone is offended, that's OK.

I can even use this public facility to present the merits of killing an unborn baby as a "viable! means of birth control." If someone is offended, no problem...

I can designate a school day as "Earth Day" and involve students in activities to worship religiously and praise the goddess "Mother Earth" and call it "ecology.."

I can use literature, videos and presentations in the classroom that depicts people with strong, traditional Christian convictions as "simple minded" and "ignorant" and call it "enlightenment.."

However, if anyone uses this facility to honor GOD and to ask HIM to Bless this event with safety and good sportsmanship, then Federal Case Law is violated..

This appears to be inconsistent at best, and at worst, diabolical.
Apparently, we are to be tolerant of everything and anyone, except GOD and HIS Commandments.

Nevertheless , as a school principal, I frequently ask staff and students to abide by rules with which they do not necessarily agree. For me to do otherwise would be inconsistent at best, and at worst, hypocritical... I suffer from that affliction enough unintentionally. I certainly do not need to add an intentional transgression.

For this reason, I shall "Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's," and refrain from praying at this time.

"However, if you feel inspired to honor, praise and thank GOD and ask HIM, in the name of JESUS, to Bless this event, please feel free to do soAs far as I know, that's not against the law----yet."

One by one, the people in the stands bowed their heads, held hands with one another and began to pray.

They prayed in the stands.. They prayed in the team huddles.. They prayed at the concession stand and they prayed in the Announcer's Box!

The only place they didn't pray was in the Supreme Court of the United States of America- the Seat of "Justice" in the "one nation, under GOD."

Somehow, Kingston , Tennessee Remembered what so many have forgotten. We are given the Freedom OF Religion, not the Freedom FROM Religion. Praise GOD that HIS remnant remains!

JESUS said, "If you are ashamed of ME before men, then I will be ashamed of you before MY FATHER.."

If you are not ashamed, pass this on ....

Lion in the Road

What is your "lion in the road"?  That may make no sense to you until you read the Proverb below, but you probably have one.  In simple terms, it is the thing that stares you down and keeps you from tackling the things you need to pursue.  Sometimes simple.. sometimes very important to what you want to accomplish.

In the Proverb it is as simple as not being able to feed you and your family if that "lion" causes you to roll over and seek more sleep instead of rising to attack the day.  The main thing I learned from this Proverb and I want you to take with you is the fact that these are characteristics of the "sluggard".  Something I don't want to be, nor do I want it to be a trait that my children might take on....

We want to be wise.. and the wise are diligent and extra sleep or obstacles that they don't want to face will not keep them from the task at hand.

Proverbs 26

13 The sluggard says, "There is a lion in the road,
a fierce lion roaming the streets!"
14 As a door turns on its hinges,
so a sluggard turns on his bed.
 15 The sluggard buries his hand in the dish;
he is too lazy to bring it back to his mouth.
16 The sluggard is wiser in his own eyes
than seven men who answer discreetly.

Timing is of the Essence

Prov. 25:11 Timely advice is lovely,
like golden apples in a silver basket.

Do you have a core resource of accountability partners or friends that you go to when you need that nugget of advice?  Just like the seeds in a single apple can produce a grove of apple trees... so the timely advice from a trusted source can be like your golden apple.
Take time to be grateful for those friends around you that are this source of "gold" for you.  If you can't easily identify those golden resources in your life... reach out and decide that you will be that trusted source to others and find those that can be that for you.

Make a LIFE, not just a living!

Building a business is better than going to work! Can you say amen to that?

I know that it is the longterm value in what I am building that motivates me to get up and do it every day.  I hear on the news and from friends the terrible ramifications of a company laying some one off after they have invested years building that business for some one else (owner or stockholders).  Yes, they were building something, but they had no long term interest in that business.

I believe that our most valuable and limited resource is TIME....  After all it is the only resource every day we each have exactly the same amount.  Therefore, it is a good/fair measuring rod of what we produce.  If we look at our investment of that time over a long period of time... what is left?
If you look at Robert Kiyosaki's model... there are four possibilities of income/finance that could emerge: emloyee, self-employed, business owner, or investor.  The first two of these models in the "cash flow quadrant" show that we are most concerned about "security", and the latter two show our motivation is "freedom".  You may think the self employed and business owner are the same, but the BIG difference is that the employee and self-employed (retail owner, doctor, lawyer, accountant, etc) all trade the investment of the hours they have for dollars (I call it trading hours for dollars).  The business owner has built a business that pays them because the "system" they have built generates income, and the investment of their hours is not required to generate the income.  The investor (at least in stable markets) has accumulated wealth that produces his income.

Each of you who live on the security side...go to "work" (investing your hours) to generate income... the problem with this is the amazing stats of how many people don't like their work, don't being around the people they have to work with, and still invest the majority of their lives there.  The key here is finding an opportunity that allows you the opportunity to see light at the end of that tunnel.  Can you see pouring yourself into something that at a point and time down the road will no longer require you to make it happen each and every day, yet still produce the income?  Many people trade hours for dollars for years counting on 401Ks or Social Security.  Today we see that Social Security is virtually bankrupt and many 70 year olds working at a "WalMart" to cover their income needs because of the instability (or Las Vegas like nature) of the stock market and investment world.... not to mention the tax burden that is coming because of the out of control spending in Washington (with NO Accountability).

I found the vehicle that was going to help me reach these goals 20+ years ago (debt free company with great vision and leadership).  I new my God revealed purpose and wanted a business that would become a platform to allow me to pursue it.  Right from our basement, now in 20+ countries, it has happened for our family.
Now for you... do something that will support your purpose (the reason you are here on this earth).  Does your income come at a cost of trading too many hours that have no alignment with your life's purpose?  A thought worth pondering, huh?  Are the valuable relationships in your life benefiting from hours invested, or are there none left for them?

Right now, in this messed up economy, great opportunity abounds.  Most people are buckling down, cutting expenses, waiting for this time to pass..... BUT it is the time to focus on generating new income...not waiting to get back to the same old "hour trading for dollars".  Think about what opportunities and resources abound in an economy like ours now????

I'll give you an example... when asking myself the above question, my mind immediately thinks about what is available in abundance, now?  Around Atlanta, the first and most obvious would be houses, lots for houses, building materials, and anything associated with the real estate and mortgage industry.  The problem there is people can't sell the houses they are in to move (they are upside down in value) and the mortgage industry has learned some lessons (it is VERY difficult to even get a loan to buy, build and do anything with real estate).  That will come back but there are difficulties there right now...but opportunity does exist if you have the financial resources without having to rely on the lenders.  My second thought is PEOPLE.  There is an abundant resource of exceptionally talented people who are not working right now.  More than I've seen since about 20 years ago. I remember that well because that was when I started my business.

There are  more awesome people who have lost their job, business, etc right now than ever in recent history.  These same people were not going to give you the time of day a few years ago to look at exploring new opportunities.... "things were booming" (stock market, 401Ks on the rise, new house, new boat, new beach home, etc).  Things are different now.  These talented people want to find a new business to pour themselves into.... voila you have your resource, so what's next.

Find a business that highest the highest return by using talented people as your asset.... there are lots, but many of them require huge investments to get started. So, low start-up and people as the greatest asset.  I would say find the business that requires you to invest your "non financial assets".  There are options, but the most easily seen would be a business, with no up front investment, that allowed you to network people to produce the result that produces the income.  OK.. sound easy enough?

You better make sure you choose an industry (in terms of the product or service that these people will deliver) that is postured to grow in the short and long term.  Right now those might be:
  • energy (fuels, ecology, autos, green, etc)
  • health care (in media daily, aging population, political, prevention/wellness booming)
  • government (they are $pending, redirect others tax dollars into your business, its not really gov't. $)
  • water/natural resources (limited resources... life is dependent on water...we're running out)
  • technology (certain sectors, opportunity abounds in Web 2.0 now that most have broadband)
  • Environment (anything green gets a green light in Washington)
  • etc

The demographics point to several categories, but I also look at what the "buzz" all about these days.  When working with people and relationships as your greatest asset.... conversation rules.  The verbal interaction (not email spam) and media control what people dwell on... its in front of them all the time.  No question, #1 right now is HEALTHCARE.....its everywhere.  Even without the political crisis brewing... articles everywhere, TV shows, and commercials (telling you to call your doctor YOU NEED THIS PILL) abound.

People, awareness, universal need, and your passion will build you a business that can literally span the globe because of the PEOPLE AVAILABLE in the market place today.  What are you waiting for?

Yes I am biased to my business and product.  Why?
  • because I know it works first hand, not through some one touting the "ground floor" deal of the century.
  • because the company is debt free in an economy that is not "credit friendly"
  • because the people I have brought to the table with me are experiencing life changing blessings
  • because we have continued to grow in this environment
  • we are expanding in many new international markets
  • research and results are being achieved from the womb thru the elderly
  • and many more reasons

Choose Your Weapon Against the FLU ((no gallery))

Strengthening your immune system is even more important during FLU season.  Much research has shown the benefits of a diet rich in fruits and vegetables.  Institutions are recommending as many as 13 servings per day!
Most of us don't reach that level of intake.  Juice Plus can help bridge the gap between what we actually eat and what we should eat.
Your family may even qualify to get it FREE for three years for the kids.  To see if you qualify you can call 800-818-9711.

Do RIGHT Things

Did you know that many people... maybe even yourself have the perspective that they are busy and productive and doing things right......but they're not getting the results they want.  In most cases busy-ness has allowed them to feel productive while they have never focused long enough on doing RIGHT things, but just doing THINGS right.

If we realize our fault in not making a decision to pursue RIGHT things... then how do we make that determination?

I like to look at principles and not rules and instruction.  Principles are those things that are timeless and work in ALL situations.  You may have a different opinion, but I choose to look at Proverbs for many of those principles that ALWAYS work.  Proverbs 21:2 makes it clear that its not just an intellectual decision.  We must use the minds that God has given us, but we must foremost consider what our HEART is telling us.  There is a TRUTH, not a truth for each individual and situation, but an ultimate TRUTH that we must seek and allow to guide us.

For me this is a daily process.  It would be easy to say that I've decided that I will seek God's truth and abide by it, but my desires and immediate satisfaction get in the way.  So daily, the journey requires diving into the TRUTH and seeking to apply the principles that will never fail.

May today be a day of RIGHT things and not full of busy-ness just doing THINGS right!

Plowing or Resting the plow

One of my favorite proverbs Prov. 20:4 (http://ref.ly/Pr20.4) .... and so appropriate at this time....

With the economy at a low point everyone seems to be thinking that it is the time to conserve and WAIT for things to get better.  In actuality, if you look throughout history, it is actually the time to be active and focusing on generating income and not on cutting back to survive the storm.  There are great opportunities at a time like this.  Many successful entrepreneurs made the beginnings of their fortunes by taking advantage of the timing.

Take an assessment of where you are in the midst of this stormy economy....look for the opportunities.  Put your "plow" to the ground... don't store it for better times.  Even if you have to shoot some squirrels while you are on the elephant hunt.... stay busy.  The squirrels will feed you while the feast is around the corner.

Think You've Arrived? I hope not!

Have you ever sought something, been on a journey, or just a phase in life and felt at some point that you had arrived.  Maybe its a goal, level, title, etc in business that you've received and you are basking in your glory?  It really is OK to celebrate, but that is temporary and you must remain on the journey.

Prov. 19:27 ( http://ref.ly/Pr19.27) is a great verse to show us what happens when we believe we have "got it" and we stop seeking instruction and have no willingness to be teachable.... those are the people in life I call the "know-it-alls".  They are no fun to be around either.  It is much more fun to be with those who hunger and thirst for wisdom, knowledge and understanding than someone who believes they've got it and want you to know it.

In my business, it really seems, its that hungry and desirous person who succeeds.  Someone willing to pay the price because the prize is great, but the growth he will experience on the journey is his pursuit as well.  It was when I realized there was more to this life than the pursuit and activities of "making a living".... that my journey took me into a business that became a platform to pursue the life and purpose God revealed.

Is your journey unclear?  God has a purpose for each of us... AND He will reveal it.  Here's a great resource... by Rick Warren (www.PurposeDrivenLife.com)

Management Potential Test

Management Potential Test

This is a test for Intelligent People. I have determined that you qualify.
The following short quiz consists of 4 questions and will tell you if you are qualified to be a professional. Scroll down for each answer. The questions are NOT that difficult.  But don't scroll down UNTIL you have answered the question!

1. How do you put a giraffe into a refrigerator?

The correct answer is:

Open the refrigerator, put in the giraffe, and close the door.

This question tested whether you tend to do simple things

In an overly complicated way.

2. How do you put an elephant into a refrigerator?

Did you say, Open the refrigerator,

Put in the elephant,

And close the
Refrigerator?
Wrong Answer.

Correct Answer:  Open the refrigerator, take out the giraffe,

Put in the elephant and close the door.

This tested your ability to think through the repercussions of your previous actions.

3.  The Lion King is hosting an animal conference. All the animals attend....except one.

Which animal does not attend?

Correct Answer:  The Elephant.

The elephant is in the refrigerator.

You just put him in there.

This tested your memory.

Okay, even if you did not answer the first three questions correctly,

You still have one more chance to show your true abilities.

4.  There is a river you must cross but it is used by crocodiles, and you do not have a boat. How do you manage?

Correct Answer:  You jump into the river and swim across.

Have you not been listening?

All the crocodiles are attending the animal conference.

This tested whether you learn quickly from your mistakes.

According to Anderson Consulting Worldwide, around 90% of the professionals they tested got all questions wrong, but many preschoolers got several correct answers. AndersonConsulting says this conclusively disproves the theory that most professionals have the brains of a four-year-old.

Send this out to frustrate all of your smart friends.

PS: Just the fact that I sent it to you should make you feel good.

Be about bubbling not babbling

Isn't it wonderful to be around people who just seem to constantly pour out wisdom from which we can learn.  One of my desires and hopefully yours is that we can become like that and impact this and the next generation.  Let's leave a legacy by focusing on the the depth from which we pour out, and may it be a bubbling brook and not just a pool of water.

2009 Vegetable Garden of the Year Runner-up: Elton DuBose

By Jonathan Devin, Memphis Commercial Appeal

Elton DuBose's neighbors were quite concerned when they saw wolves guarding the vegetable garden at his southeast Memphis home.

"This is my form of exercise, relaxation and enjoyment," said Elton DuBose, a vice president with Juice Plus. His one-third-acre plot won runner-up in the vegetable garden division of this year's Garden of the Year contest.

Mounded rows improve drainage in the Southeast Memphis garden, where wolf cut-outs (seen here) ward off hungry geese that visit Dubose's pond.

DuBose, whose garden was named runner-up vegetable garden for this year's Garden of the Year contest, was quick to allay their fears. The wolves standing sentry around the garden are actually cut-outs on posts designed to frighten off the flocks of wild geese that visit DuBose's pond each day.

"When I first planted my corn the last week in April, (it) came up good, then I came in one day and (it was) all gone," said DuBose, a vice president for Juice Plus.

DuBose's one-third-acre vegetable garden yielded okra that was 7 feet tall and a larger than usual crop of corn. Apparently the wolves did the trick.

"I have to pick it every other day," said DuBose.

DuBose is a lifelong gardener who grew up on a farm in Tifton, Ga. He has lived with his wife, Carolyn, at their current home for about 20 years. A co-worker lends a hand in the garden from time to time.

"You could tell that (DuBose) was creative and he's been a gardener for a long time," said Donna Olswing, assistant floriculturist for the Dixon Gallery and Gardens, who helped judge this year's contest.

"I also loved the way he did his flowers," said Olswing, noting the mounds of orange and yellow marigolds sprouting up at the end of each row. "Besides being decorative, putting the flowers in there draws the bees, which do the pollinating."

DuBose had another use for the flowers in mind.

"I've heard (marigolds) ward off bugs every year," said DuBose. "It looks good, and it may work."

Most of the vegetables are given away to friends, neighbors, and co-workers including DuBose's boss with whom he has a standing vegetable rivalry. This year, he raised two kinds of green beans, corn, peas, butter beans, okra, peanuts, squash, peppers, onions and his favorite, tomatoes.

"I put (the vegetables) up on mounded rows and the reason for that is if you have real wet weather, it will dry out quicker and won't drown out your crops," said DuBose pointing out the straight trenches separating each row.

The garden backs up to a large pond with a fountain spray in the center and a cozy deck along the edge.

"I love to share what I grow," said DuBose. "It's my hobby. This is my form of exercise, relaxation and enjoyment."

He not only talks the talk, but he walks the walk. Juice Plus doesn't replace eating right, but bridges the gap from what we eat to what we should eat. He makes sure his family has the best of produce right out the back door. Plus, its hard work and he gets plenty of exercise...
